Philosophy

Our aim is to enable each child to become all that he was created to be. The development of a well-rounded child is a significant goal because such a child is balanced academically, physically, spiritually, socially and emotionally. Our students excel in life because they are responsible, creative, compassionate and take initiative.

As Froebelians we draw our principles and methodology from Friedrich Froebel’s philosophy of education. His most significant principle was the connection that could be discovered in all things, for curriculum is truly as broad as the universe. Each child reflects the image of a good and creative God and so is guided in her creative initiative. She is encouraged to become a responsible steward of the natural world and a compassionate member of society.

Respect for self and others, the natural world and the Creator are cultivated and encouraged in the children. Character building is also a part of the learning process, for such qualities as integrity, dependability and graciousness are considered necessary to a child’s well-rounded development. While it is founded on a Christian worldview, The Froebel Education Centre is non-denominational. Families of all backgrounds are welcome.
