Methodology
Our method is based on Friedrich Froebel's philosophy of child development through education.
- We build a bridge between home and school so that the child always feels as though s/he is part of a larger family.
- We are organized into small family groupings in order to allow for individual child development.
- We respect each child's pace of development and learning style.
- We fan the creative spark in each child into a glowing flame.
- We draw out the child's creative self-activity.
- We use the Froebel Gifts and Art Occupations.
- Children learn best through their experiences so we provide as many different experiences as possible within each field of study.
To have found one fourth of the answer by his own effort is of more value and importance to the child than it is to half hear and half understand it in the words of another; for this causes mental indolence. Do not, therefore, always answer your children's questions at once and directly; but as soon as they have gathered sufficient strength and experience, furnish them with means to find answers in the sphere of their own knowledge.
